LOG CABIN BASE PREPARATION
Structure
Foundations for buildings must be level and sufficiently stable to take the weight of the building. Ideally the base should be constructed of Concrete, Paving Slabs or Timber Decking. If you are unsure of the size of base needed for your building, contact your building supplier for clarification. Also some manufactures size their building differently, some sizes are internal and some are external,
ALWAYS CHECK!
Customer bases found to be more than 20mm out of level may find we are unable to install their building without the use of packing and in those circumstances may find the manufacturers guarantee invalid.
Should the base be out of level to such a degree that our installation team deem it is unfit for the supplied building then we will be unable to complete the installation on that day.
Space Planning
Please ensure you leave sufficient room around your building to allow for the overhangs on the roof and also to allow you access to paint the building. Customers who do not allow for the overhang of the roof may find that building encroaches on neighbouring property and in most cases we will be unable to erect the building.
We also recommend that you allow at least 50mm extra base around your building to ensure that the building cab be erected square, even if the base is not.
Access to place of installation.
We need to have reasonable access to your prepared base and it is your responsibility to inform us of any difficulties that there may be before our fitters arrive. While every effort will be taken to leave your property tidy we are not able to remove the building packaging and spare wood.
Charges
If on the day of installation we are unable to erect your building for any of the above reasons then a charge of half our original daily installation cost will be due to cover our expenses for that day. We will provide an invoice for your extra costs to enable you to re-charge the person you deem to be at fault. We will re-schedule your job at the original rate as soon as your problems have been resolved.
